NOTICES FOR THE WEEK November 30, 2014 PDF Print E-mail

1.      Today is the first Sunday of Advent.

2.      December 3rd is the feast of St. Francis Xavier. St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral is celebrating the feast next Sunday. There will be a car procession commencing at 6.30 pm. For details of the preparation for feast and timings of the novena see the notice board.

3.      Friday is the first Friday of the month. Holy Hour in English at 7.30 pm.

4.      A special exhibition has been set up by the Tamil Catechism Group to emphasize the importance of educating children in the faith. Please visit the exhibition.

5.      As announced last week, the society of St Vincent de Paul will be holding its annual food fest on  Sunday, the 7th Dec 2014. Details are  displayed on the notice board. Patrons who wish to donate household articles/appliances in working condition and clothes, wearable and preferably ironed may please leave them at room no 3, or the parish office, or the  church reception any day during normal working hours, before the 5th of December. The counters will be open from 8 AM to 1 PM. Home kitchens may remain closed for Sunday as a variety of breakfast and lunch items will be available, along with the other usual articles. Please patronize this event as the proceeds will go entirely towards charity to the poor of the Parish.

6.      Holy Ghost Parish is organizing a crib competition open to the members of the parish on the 20th and 21st of December, 2014. Teams may register paying a fee of Rs. 500/-. Registration will be done next Sunday outside the Church. Only a limited number of stalls will be set up in the Church compound for this competition . Make sure you register early.

7.      We thank the Mission Preachers (Ivel Mendanha, Henry Fernandes and Prem Prakash D’Douza) for the powerful mission that they preached. We are sure that they have inspired a genuine renwal in our parish. God bless them.
