The SCC Nazareth Group was started in Oct.2015 with the first meeting held at the Satya Seva convent on Cookson Road. This group comprises Cookson Road, part of Pottery Road and Davis Road, Hall Road, Viviani Road and Clarke Road. The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month at the residence of the host member. In a large parish community, it is difficult for parishioners to get to know one another and have a group discussion on our faith. Hence these SCC groups were formed.  Listening to the Word of God, living and proclaiming it is an objective of our SCC. Based on the coming Sunday’s gospel reading, there is a discussion and sharing of faith. We also get guidance on any problem we encounter in order to live our faith meaningfully and give help and support to one another such as Social concerns, fostering of unity in the neighbourhood and church activities.

As part of the initiative of helping members to grow in faith and prayer life –

..          Fr. Paul informed the group about the Neocathecumenate organisation in the Church.

..          Members of the Focolare Movement who also belong to this group, showed a documentary on Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter on love in the family. They also showed a presentation on Pope Francis’ encyclical “Laudato Si”.

…        There was a Teaching on the theme “We need Small Christian Communities” was given by Bro.Vivian Richards, Deacon, Viveknagar parish and Kumar Tiwari of Belagavi parish to recapture genuine values and practices of an authentic Christian life as practised by the early church.
